Ummm, do we know what’s illicit in California? I know they don’t like you towing a boat trailer too fast, but it seems that Hollywood scripts might be permitted to indulge in a few “behind the back pages” adventures.

Just be sure to leave it lying around the office, not laying. The verb to lay is intransitive only in its colloquial meaning, "to engage in sexual intercourse."
